28 сентября 1899 года в Николаеве родился поэт-песенник Григорий Гридов (Давидович), автор песен «Стаканчики граненые», «Эх, Андрюша, нам ли быть в печали?». Погиб в 1941-м.

29 сентября 1852 года в Спасском адмиралтействе города Николаева спущен на воду 120-пушечный парусный корабль «Великий князь Константин».

30 сентября 1794 года в Николаеве приняла прихожан Соборная церковь во имя Святого Григория Великой Армении - главный собор Черноморского флота.

1 октября 1882 года увидел свет «Николаевский листок объявлений» (впоследствии переименованный в газету «Южанин»), издававшийся под редакцией Василия Даценко, будущего Николаевского городского головы (1884-1888).

1 октября 1907 года в Очакове открыт памятник генералиссимусу Александру Суворову (скульптор Б. В. Эдуардс).

2 октября 1802 года учреждена Николаевская губерния (упразднена 15 мая 1803 года).

2 октября 1792 года на Николаевской верфи спущен на воду 26-пушечный фрегат «Легкий». Строительство вел корабельный мастер Александр Соколов. Именно он заложил тремя годами ранее 44-пушечный фрегат «Святой Николай», первый корабль в Николаеве. То строительство принесло немало горя и человеческих страданий. Когда полковник Михаил Фалеев, главный строитель верфи, понял, что к назначенному сроку спуск корабля не состоится, затребовал другого строителя - премьер-майора Ивана Должникова, поручив ему возглавить дело. С согласия Фалеева тот установил рабский режим работы на верфи. Строительство ускорилось, но за три месяца умерли 547 плотников.

А фрегат «Легкий» с 1794 по 1799 год занимал брандвахтенный пост в Очакове, доставлял провизию для средиземноморской эскадры адмирала Федора Ушакова из Николаева в Константинополь.

С 1801 по 1803 год «Легкий» стоял в Николаеве, где в 1804 году и был разобран.
