Николаевские исторические хроники6 сентября 1775 года родился адмирал, командующий Черноморским флотом Алексей Грейг (умер в 1845 году). С марта 1816-го - главный командир Черноморского флота и военный губернатор Севастополя и Николаева.6 сентября 1830 года в Николаевском адмиралтействе спущен на воду 24-пушечный корвет «Сизополь».6 сентября 1831 года в Николаевском адмиралтействе спущен на воду 24-пушечный корвет «Пендераклия».

Назван в память об уничтожении у крепости Пендераклия в 1829 году 17 турецких судов. Корвет участвовал в экспедиции Черноморского флота на Босфор, крейсировал у берегов Абхазии. В 1834 и 1835 годах находился в Константинополе в распоряжении русского посланника в Турции. Действовал у Кавказского побережья. В 1837 году в Афинах выполнял распоряжения русского посланника в Греции. Корвет «Пендераклия» был разобран в 1844-м.

8 сентября 1778 года родился адмирал Фаддей (Фабиан Готтлиб Таддеус фон) Беллинсгаузен (умер в 1852 году). Бюст установлен на улице Адмиральской в городе Николаеве.
8 сентября 1907 года проведена автомобильная и мотоциклетная гонка по маршруту Одесса-Николаев-Одесса.
9 сентября 1845 года в Николаевском адмиралтействе спущены на воду два 18-пушечных брига «Птолемей» и «Тезей».

9 сентября 1920 года в Николаеве родилась медсестра батальона морпехов Галина Петрова (погибла в 1943 году). Ее именем названа городская улица.
9 сентября 1934 года на ЧСЗ спущен на воду лидер эскадренных миноносцев «Харьков» водоизмещением 2597 тонн.
9 сентября 1987 года из города Николаева отправилась в кругосветное плавание яхта НУК «Икар» под руководством Бориса Немирова.
